On June 19th 2013, the US Congress confirmed Michael Froman…
…as the latest US Trade Representative. Thus, making him the front man in the secret negotiations taking place under the guise of the Trans Pacific Partnership (TPP).
The vote was 93 in favor; 4 against.
Senators Carl Levin (D., Mich.), Joe Manchin (D., W.V.), Bernie Sanders (I., Vt.) and Elizabeth Warren (D., Ma.) opposed him and Sen. Barbara Boxer (D., Calif.) abstained.
Apparently, there are still four (possibly five) members of Congress who believe government is about the people, not big business.
Elizabeth Warren voices her views below*. America needs a Congress of Elizabeth Warrens.
The TPP, coupled with the present EU/US ‘trade’ negotiations are designed to free corpocracy from the last vestiges of government regulation. Their implementation will prove catastrophic to ordinary people throughout the world, and will likely hammer home the final nail into the coffin of democracy.
