No Change At The Top

We hear today that Republican National Committee chairman, Michael Steele, has been ousted from his position by Reince Priebus, seen here on the left:

According to Wikipedia:

He [Priebus] said he believes the RNC is “part of” the Tea Party movement, he believes in the Christian God and stated that if he were elected as RNC chair it would be through God’s blessing, he believes it is the Republican Party’s mission to “save our country, to save our party, and to take back the White House,” he believes someone who is “pro-abortion, pro-stimulus, pro-AIG … might not be a Republican,” he believes that being pro-life is “paramount” to the Republican Party platform, he wants to ban earmarks, he wants to require photo IDs to vote, he opposes the legal recognition of same sex marriage, his political heroes include Ronald Reagan and Abraham Lincoln, and he owns five guns.’[1]

So, not much change there, then.

  1. I’m not sure whether you recall the Beachcomber columns (in the Express when it had claims to be a newspaper) but the man sounds like one of the red headed dwarves (OK men of limited stature if we go down the Mark Twain route) who used to persecute Lord Justice Cocklecarrot.

  2. WWW – Never a one.

Richard T – there were twelve, I believe, and one was called Churm Rincewind as per Terry Pratchett’s Discworld wizard. Don’t ask me to name the others! Perhaps the dubious Reince Priebus could form the baker’s dozen?
