Knicker-Less Whitney.

Whitney Houston has fallen on hard times. The chill wind of poverty is gusting around her vitals – quite literally, for Whitney has been forced to auction her panties.

Apparently, the singer kept an assortment of bric a brac in storage from tours dating back to 1994. On Wednesday, a judge ordered it to be auctioned after the storage company sought legal redress for non-payment of fees.

The whole sorry story is a lesson to young people tempted by the drug and alcohol scene. Houston’s alleged addiction to drugs, alcohol and eating disorders has ruined, not only her career, but her life.

“Stay Free Of Drugs” is the message – or you, too, may lose your knickers.

Dead – But Definitely Not Forgotten.

Legendary “Godfather of Soul” James Brown died on Christmas Day 2006. Four funerals followed, all well covered by the media, before the singer was laid to rest………..

……..in his drawing room!

It seems Brown failed to stipulate where he wished to be interred and squabbling relatives can’t agree. Meanwhile, James Brown rests in his coffin, in a chilled room of his South Carolina mansion, awaiting legal decisions. So far, he has remained patient, but if the legal battle continues much longer he may just leap up out the box and yell:

“Fellas, I’m ready to get up and do my thing, I wanta get into it, man, you know… Like a, like a sex machine, man….. Movin’… doin’ it, you know……”

Poor James! Someone really ought to have suggested he make a will.

No End To The Madness?

George W Bush’s latest escalation of his – to coin a BBC News announcer’s recent phrase – “so-called War on Terrorism” in Somalia, has failed to kill any of the al Qaida suspects they targeted.

Though the American ambassador claims no civilians were killed in the raids, local reports state up to seventy civilians and many of their animals were slaughtered by the US air strikes.

Failed missions seem inevitable under the present American regime. Using the might of US aircraft carriers to strike at a raggle-taggle group of already vanquished soldiers trying to escape into Kenya, on the excuse they may be connected to al Qaeda, is another example of trying to swot flies with a jackhammer. Apparently, this is George W Bush’s forte. It’s about time someone pointed out to him it doesn’t work.

As an aside to the war in Iraq, American troops today stormed an Iranian consulate in the northern Iraqi town of Irbil. US forces broke into the building and took five Iranians prisoner, removing computers and documents.

Had that situation been reversed, and Iranians stormed an American consulate, it would be considered an act of war.

In the circumstances, would it be unreasonable to suggest that the United States is being controlled by madmen?
